Pipeline protection forms a very essential and vital part of pipe survival. Lloyd Tar products are associated in this critical activity as manufactures of world class coal Tar primers and enamels with the prodcuts conforming to the latest specification laid down in AWWA(American water works association), BS(British Standard), BIS(Bureau of Indian Standards).
Our Product range comprises the following:
Primers

Enamel

Primers General

The enamel binds to steel very tenaciously if the surface temperature of the steel at the application is high enough to permit thorough wetting of the surface. But, for most applications, preheating of steel is impracticable and effective adhesion of enamel needs of assistance of a good primer.
Coal Tar Primer (Loid T-3)
Synthetic Primer (Loid T-7)

Loid T-3 is a thixotropic primer, manufactured from plasticised pitch prepared out of surface coating material, with a high bond factor

Appearance

Pigmented black and comes ready for use within the viscosity limits as laid down by various worldwide pipeline specifications. On no account should it be thinned.

Loid T-7 consists of chlorinated Rubber plasticisers and solvents. They are suitably compounded to produce coating that can be readily applied cold by brushing or spraying to produce a suitable effective bond between the metal and subsequent coating of coal tar enamel.

QUALITY CONTROL

Synthetic primer is manufactured from chlorinated rubber to fully conform to national and international standards such as:

  • BS-4164-87
  • IS-10221-82
  • Excellent brushing and spraying consistency
  • Excellent adhesion to metal
  • Good Impact resistance
  • Hard drying on application
  • Low water absorption
  • Chemical Stability
  • Resistance to cold flow
  • No tendency to bubble formation on application
  • Temperatures Susceptibilty
  • Resistance to cathodic disbonding
  • Good resistance to soil bacteria and marine organisms
Loid T-3 & T-7 are manufactured under strict quality control. In addition, our company maintains its laboratory and chemists monitor the manufacturing and test products to recongnised standards
